Client: The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

 

Brief: Produce a fundraising film featuring Ross Hutchins- a leading British tennis doubles player with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, treated at The Royal Marsden. The film would be shown during the Aegon Championships at The Queen’s Club.

 

Creative:  We had all the material we needed to create a powerful, arresting short: Ross is 28 and super fit. He never expected to get cancer.

 

We opened the film with Ross travelling across the screen in super slomo, his racket out-stretched. But then you notice he’s attached to a drip and wearing an examination gown. We followed this by highlighting the world-class care and treatment the hospital provides.

 

Impact: Shown throughout the tournament and picked up by a variety of media, the film has clocked up more than 260,000 views on YouTube. It was also the most shared film on Facebook and YouTube for the first 24 hours after launch.

 

  • Title Private Care / Royal Marsden

Brief: Convey the quality care the Royal Marsden provides to private patients as a world-leading cancer centre.

 

Approach: Filmed throughout the hospital and featuring interviews with management, consultants, specialist nurses and radiologists, this film shows the hospital’s multi-disciplinary approach to cancer diagnostics and treatment and the unique services and reassurance it provides to private patients.

 

Result: Created specifically for the home page of the Royal Marsden’s private care website, the film has also been used to promote the hospital’s services at health conferences around the world.

Result: A compelling day-in-the-life of glimpse into this A&E department that shows the challenging nature of a consultant’s role.

  • Title Royal Marsden Royal Visit

Brief: Capture the Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, opening the Oak Centre for Children and Young People at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey, one of the largest comprehensive children’s cancer centres in Europe.

 

Approach:  This was one of the Royal couples’ first official engagements following their wedding and we were only allowed to use a one-man film crew. However, this helped us gain the intimate footage we wanted as the couple toured the centre, met staff and chatted with children.

 

Result: The world’s print and broadcast media jumped on our quality B-roll footage and used screen shots from our film to illustrate the couple’s first ever public visit. This all helped draw attention to the Royal Marsden and raise awareness of the excellent care the children’s centre provides.
