Short Filmmakers Program
"The Short Filmmakers program in Partnership with Street Kids International travelled to Debre Berhan in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.

In a series of Training of Trainers sessions for youth workers and the kids themselves, the Short Form Film Company worked with SKI staff supporting Ethiopian youth workers to develop key narrative and technical filming skills. They were encouraged to pass those skills on to the young participants, empowering them to communicate their own stories to audiences in the UK, Ethiopia and around the world.
SFFC also pioneered the Short Filmmakers Project with Villiers High School in Southall, London. In unison with Amnesty International, Villiers has linked up with 15 schools in 14 countries to create the Human Rights Friendly Schools project.

We worked closely with the school on a fun but intense one day workshop of digital film training that allowed the students to tackle key questions and topics brought up by the Amnesty program. The pupils use digital cameras such as Flips, Kodak z18 and iPhones.
The Short Filmmakers Progam provides the students with the digital and imaginitive skills to become filmmakers in their own right.

The Villiers School Filmmakers were Elisha, Hibak, Omar, Anjali, Fathma, Farhan, Caroline, Shaneka & Bilal.

All footage was shot by the students.
